dusseldorf diary - the state of being constant

the more things appear different, the more they are the same. Shopping malls all over the world exhibit the same behaviour: exasparated men holding onto a motley of bags and their dear life, children running around ignoring fervent pleas to pipe down, teens huddled together speaking in hushed tones that seem to be the perogative of the young, young couples with children checking the prices tags, wistfully putting back items they cannot afford, grandparents escorting kids with the caution of a mother hen.....
